Know your ward

Ward 4 is Concord & Thornhill North — established neighbourhoods, busy employment lands, major regional corridors and one of the fastest-growing downtowns in York Region.

The Ward

Welcome to Ward 4

Ward 4 is a diverse and growing community that brings together established neighbourhoods, new communities, local businesses, parks, community spaces and Vaughan’s evolving urban centre.

What connects us is a shared interest in making our community a great place to live, work, raise a family and build a future.

What’s in the Ward

A ward of many communities

Neighbourhoods & communities

From long-established streets in Concord to the newer communities of Thornhill North, Ward 4 is home to families who have been here for decades and neighbours who arrived last year.

Major roads & transportation

Highway 7, Highway 407, Jane, Keele, Dufferin, Bathurst and Steeles carry regional traffic straight through the ward — which is exactly why congestion and cut-through traffic top the list of resident concerns.

Transit

Subway, bus rapid transit, YRT and GO connections give Ward 4 some of the best transit access in Vaughan — and make the case for connecting more neighbourhoods to it.

Parks & community centres

Parks, trails, arenas and community centres are where neighbourhoods actually meet. Keeping them clean, safe, accessible and well-programmed is a core municipal job.

Growth & development

Ward 4 is absorbing significant new development. Nirmala’s position is simple: growth has to come with the roads, transit, parks and services that make it liveable.

Vaughan Metropolitan Centre

The VMC is Vaughan’s emerging downtown — transit, towers, jobs and public space. Getting it right matters for everyone in Ward 4, including the neighbourhoods around it.
