Why Nirmala

A fresh voice.
A different perspective.
A stronger Ward 4.

Ward 4 deserves leadership that listens, responds and follows through.

Nirmala has built her career solving problems, working with people and navigating complex organizations to find practical solutions. Now she wants to bring that same approach to City Hall, with a focus on the everyday issues affecting residents, families, seniors, businesses and neighbourhoods across Ward 4.

Your voice matters. Your concerns matter. And you deserve a Councillor who will work for you.

The Platform

Five priorities for Ward 4

Practical problems, practical plans — and a commitment to tell you exactly what happened next.

01

A Councillor Who Responds

Representation does not end when the election does. Nirmala will listen, respond, follow up and keep residents informed.

02

Safe, Clean & Connected Neighbourhoods

Building communities where families, seniors, young people and residents of all abilities can feel safe, connected and proud to call home.

03

Protect Affordability & Respect Taxpayers

Residents work hard for their money. Nirmala will advocate for responsible spending, value for money and strong municipal services.

04

Responsible Growth

Growth should improve our community, not overwhelm it. Development must be supported by the infrastructure and services residents need.

05

Fix Traffic & Get Ward 4 Moving

Better planning, safer streets and practical solutions to congestion, speeding and neighbourhood traffic.

The full platform, in detail.

Every priority, with the problem, why it matters, the plan — and how Nirmala will report back to you.

1 A fresh voice at the table

The only woman on the Ward 4 ballot.

Ward 4 · Vaughan City Council · 2026

“I am proud to be the only woman running for Ward 4 Councillor in this election. But I am not asking residents to vote for me simply because I am a woman.”

My experience, leadership, problem-solving ability, community involvement and commitment to serving people are my qualifications.

At the same time, different life experiences allow us to notice different things, ask different questions and sometimes see solutions from another perspective.

  • Good government is stronger when different perspectives are represented.
  • A council table that reflects the whole community makes better decisions for it.
  • If elected, Nirmala will be a Councillor for everyone in Ward 4.

The Nirmala Standard

Representation should come with responsibility.

A Councillor cannot personally solve every issue, or always give the answer someone wants. But every resident deserves to be heard, taken seriously, and told what happened.

01I will listen.Your concerns deserve to be heard.
02I will respond. You deserve acknowledgement and answers.
03I will follow up.Your concerns should not disappear into City Hall.
04I will report back. You deserve to know what happened.
